Packaging for Burger Joints and Sandwich Shops

A burger shop's packaging problem is grease and time. The wrap has to hold a hot sandwich together from the pass to the customer's hands without soaking through, and it has to do it in one motion during a lunch rush.

Burger bags are built grease-resistant for exactly that, shipping 400 per bundle with a 3-bundle minimum — one of the lowest entry points in the whole range. Deli paper is the lighter sheet for wrapping sandwiches and lining baskets; standard wax paper is heavier where the food is hotter and oilier. All the printed papers come in eight sizes from 6" x 6" to 14" x 18" at 400 sheets per bundle.

Full-length subs need a hero box rather than a clamshell that crushes the bread or leaves it hanging out of the end. Hero boxes come in 11" and 12" at 100 per bundle with a 5-bundle minimum.

For orders that leave the building, handle bags run four sizes from the 10" x 7" x 13" Bistro to the 13" x 7" x 17" Martin, 100 per bundle with a 4-bundle minimum. Setup is $75 once per order and the artwork stays on file for reorders.

Packaging for Burger Joints and Sandwich Shops — Common Questions

What is the cheapest branded packaging for a sandwich shop?
Printed deli paper and burger bags. Both ship 400 to a bundle and go under or around every sandwich you sell, so the cost per branded impression is lower than on any box.
Are burger bags grease resistant?
Yes. They are built for hot sandwiches and burgers, where a standard paper bag would soak through before the customer gets home.
What should I use for full-length subs?
Hero boxes in 11" and 12". A standard clamshell either crushes a long roll or leaves the end exposed. Hero boxes ship 100 per bundle with a 5-bundle minimum.
What is the minimum order?
Burger bags and bakery bags start at 3 bundles of 400. Handle bags start at 4 bundles of 100. Hero boxes start at 5 bundles of 100.
How many handle bag sizes should I stock?
Most operators carry two: the Bistro for single meals and a larger size for multi-container or family orders, where one size would either waste bag or strain the handles.
